Project Handoff & Recovery · Portland Metro
When a contractor disappears, a project stalls, or a GC gets overloaded mid-job, Relay assesses what's actually there, documents it properly, and connects the project with a qualified contractor who can pick it up — without inheriting someone else's liability blind.
Sound familiar?
Not "I want to start a remodel" — that's every other site. This is specifically for work that's already started and stuck.
How it works
We look at the project as it actually stands — no assumptions carried over from whoever started it.
A dated record of exactly what exists: condition, defects, permits, materials on site — before anyone new touches it.
We connect the remaining scope with a licensed, insured contractor qualified for that specific work.
The new contractor works from a clean, documented starting point — and a clean contract.
The part that actually matters
Every contractor's first objection to taking over someone else's job is the same: "I don't want to be responsible for somebody else's bad work." This is how we solve that — for both sides.
The report documents conditions at a point in time — it's not a warranty, a guarantee, or a substitute for a licensed inspection where one is required. Final scope and pricing are always set by the contractor who takes over the work.
Homeowners & GCs
Fill this out and it'll open a pre-filled email to send us. We'll personally review it, follow up by phone or email, and ask for photos, video, or plans at that point before scheduling an assessment.
Contractors & subs
We're building a short list of licensed, insured Portland-area contractors interested in handoff and takeover work — GC takeovers, sub scope completion, or punch-list-only jobs.
Relay is a project handoff and documentation service — work is performed by independently licensed and insured contractors, not by Relay directly. A Handoff Report documents conditions at a point in time; it is not a warranty, guarantee, or substitute for a required inspection.
