The part that actually matters

The Handoff Report

Every contractor's first objection to taking over someone else's job is the same: "I don't want to be responsible for somebody else's bad work." This is how we solve that — for both sides.

What it documents

  • Timestamped photos of current conditions
  • Defects and incomplete work, noted plainly
  • Permit and inspection status
  • Materials already purchased or on site
  • What's explicitly excluded from the new scope

Why it matters

  • The incoming contractor has a dated record of what they didn't do
  • The homeowner has a clear line between old work and new work
  • Warranty claims on prior work stay with the original contractor
  • Everyone starts the new contract from the same page — literally

The report documents conditions at a point in time — it's not a warranty, a guarantee, or a substitute for a licensed inspection where one is required. Final scope and pricing are always set by the contractor who takes over the work.

Assessments are done by a licensed Oregon general contractor (CCB-licensed, Portland-based) — not a call center reading from a script. We know what "60% done" actually looks like on a job site.
